![]() ALFONSO SAURA LLACER was born in Alcoy (Alicante, Spain). Being bred in the midst of a family of musical tradition, he did his earlier studies in the Alicante and Valencia Conservatories of Music. He continued his musical education and improved it afterwards on orchestra conducting under Professor Constantin Bujenau in Romania. Maestro Saura has been Associated Conductor of Cluj-Napoca Romanian State Opera, Chief Conductor of the Florence Sinfonieta Orchestra, Music Conductor of the Florence Chamber Opera. Associated Conductor of the Offerta Musicale di Venezia Orchestra. The 1992-93 season found him serving as Music Conductor of the Solists Orchestra of Varna (Bulgaria) and as principal guest conductor of Varna Philharmonic Orchestra. During 1993, Saura was appointed Principal guest conductor of Kiev's Philharmonic Orchestra (Ukraine) by the unanimous vote of all the members of the orchestra. Since 1987, Mr. Saura has guest conducted several orchestras including the Torino Philharmonic Orchestra, Arena di Verona Orchestra, the Sinfonica di Bari, the Milano Classica Orchestra, the Sinfonica Abruzzese, the Marchigiana Orchestra, Sinfonia Perusina, Offerta Musicale di Venezia (Italy), the Frankfurt-Oder Philharmonic, Baden-Baden Philharmonic Orchestra, the Regensburg Chamber Orchestra and the Freiburg Chamber Orchestras (Germany), the Greensboro Philharmonic Orchestra, the National Repertory Orchestra, the Garland Philharmonic (Dallas-Texas), the Las Colinas Philharmonic Orchestra and the Amarillo Symphony Orchestra (Texas) in the United States of America, the Daegu City Orchestra, TJBC Daejeon Orchestra, Prime Philharmonic Seoul Orchestra, Seoul Insieme Orchestra, Busan Metropolitan Orchestra (South Corea) the Praga Virtuosi (Czech republic). Other guest engagements have taken Maestro Saura before audiences of the Classic Orchestra of Madrid, “Ciudad de Malaga” and “Orchestra Ciudad de Oviedo” in Spain, the Polish Radio-Television Orchestra, the Polish Arthur Rubinstein Philharmonic Orchestra, teh Moscow Symphony, the Philharmonic Orchestra of Minsk in Bielo-Russia, the Russian Chamber Orchestra, Accademic Camerata of Bratislava, the Romanian Radio-Television National Orchestra, Bucarest Georges Enescu Philharmonic, Cluj-Napoca Philharmonic Orchestra, the Philharmonic Orchestra of Iassi (Moldavia), Philharmonic Orchestra of Timisoara in Romania, the Accademic Camerata of Paris, the Bartok in Budapest (Hungary), and the Lituania Virtuosi and Varna Philharmonic Orchestra, among others. Mr. Saura took part in International festivals such as the Santander, Ayamonte, Alicante and Ubeda International Festivals in Spain, Breckenridge Festival. In the U.S.A., the Regensburg Summer Concert Festival in Germany, “Summer Nights” in Florence, “Magna Grecia” in Taranto, “Bach to Bartok” Festival in Imola, in Italy, the Bacau's Contemporary Music Festival in Romania, or the “Varna Summer Festival in Bulgaria. Apart from being recorded by the Spanish, Bulgarian, Romanian and Italian radio-televisions, he has already recorded four CDs for Bongiovanni label with performances of Haydn, Salieri and the first recording of “Traccollo” of Pergolesi. He has been conducting opera during the last few years, in operas such as, Il Trovatore,Traviata, Rigoletto, Aida, Nabucco, Ballo in maschera, Otello, Don Carlo by Verdi, La Bohéme, Tosca, Madama Butterfly by Puccini, Lucia di Lammermour, Der Fliegende Holänder by Wagner, Carmen by Bizet, Don Pasquale, L'elisir d'amore, Rita by Donizetti, Barbiere di Siviglia, Cenerentola by Rossini, Serva Padrona, Tracollo by Pergolesi and Matrimonio Segreto by Cimarosa. |
